Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about pricing, payments, revisions, ownership, and how we work. For the full rules behind payments and refunds, see the Payment & Cancellation Policy and Refund Policy.
How much does a website cost?
It depends on what you need. A simple business website typically starts at $500, a polished multi-page site typically runs $800–$1,200, restaurant sites typically run $700–$1,500 depending on menu size, and ecommerce sites start at $1,000 depending on product count. Custom dashboards and applications are quoted individually. Every project gets a written quote based on your actual scope before any work begins — see our Pricing page for current starting figures.
How do you build the websites?
We custom-build websites using modern web-development tools such as Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, Vercel, Shopify, Stripe, and other services appropriate for the project. The stack is chosen per project — an ecommerce store and a restaurant site don't need the same tools — and we'll tell you what we're using and why.
Do you use AI?
Yes, where it's useful. We use AI-assisted development tools to work efficiently, but every project is planned, reviewed, customized, tested, and managed by our team. You're hiring people who are responsible for the result — the tools just help us get there faster.
How long does a project take?
Most business websites take a few weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on how quickly we receive your content and how many revision rounds are needed. We'll give you a realistic timeline as part of your written scope, and we'll flag it early if anything is likely to slow things down.
How do payments work?
Projects are billed in three milestones: 20% at kickoff once you approve the written scope, 30% after you approve the homepage and design direction, and the final 50% before the site goes live. You're never paying for work you haven't seen and approved. Full details are on our Payment & Cancellation Policy page.
What do you need from me to get started?
At minimum, a clear idea of what the site needs to do, your business details, and any existing content (text, photos, logo) you'd like used. If you don't have content ready, tell us — we can talk through options, though writing and photography may affect scope and price.
Do you use Wix or Squarespace?
No. We build with professional web-development tools rather than drag-and-drop site builders, which gives you a faster site and full ownership of the result. The exception is Shopify for ecommerce — it's genuinely the right platform for most stores, and we set it up and design it for you.
Are milestone payments refundable?
Payments are tied to phases of work. Once work begins on a phase, that payment is earned — it covers work done and production time reserved. Phases that haven't started aren't owed, and amounts paid toward unstarted work may be refundable. The Refund Policy page spells out every case, including cancellation by either side.
What happens if I cancel?
You can cancel in writing at any time. Completed and in-progress phases stay payable, future phases that haven't begun are not owed, and nonrecoverable third-party expenses (like domains or subscriptions bought for your project) remain your responsibility. Work completed up to cancellation can be delivered once earned balances are paid. Details are on the Payment & Cancellation Policy page.
How many revisions are included?
Your written quote lists the number of included revision rounds. We don't advertise unlimited revisions, since an open-ended promise like that isn't one we could realistically keep. A revision is an adjustment to work you've approved, not a change of direction. Consolidated feedback goes furthest, and extra rounds can be added at a quoted price.
Are domains and hosting included?
The domain is normally purchased and owned by you, in your name — we help you connect it. Hosting arrangements are explained before launch, and maintenance plans can include hosting management. Either way, nothing about your site is locked behind an account you don't control.
Can you build an online store?
Yes — we set up and design Shopify stores: product pages, checkout configuration, shipping and tax setup assistance, and basic training so you can manage products yourself. Shopify's subscription and processing fees are billed to you directly by Shopify and are separate from our price.
Can you connect Toast, Square, or Clover?
Yes. For restaurants we link your site to the ordering or reservation platform you already use — Toast, Square, Clover, or another provider — so customers move straight from your menu to ordering. Rebuilding an ordering backend itself is a different, larger project that we'd quote separately if you ever wanted it.
What happens if I need more features?
Your written quote defines what's included. When you want something beyond it — more pages, a new feature, an integration — we quote the addition first, and work starts only after you approve the price and timeline. Small additions are handled as change orders; large ones become their own project.
Do you offer maintenance?
Yes, optionally. Every project includes launch support for issues in the original build, and if you want ongoing updates, monitoring, and technical upkeep after that, maintenance plans start at $75/month. If not, you're free to manage the site yourself or hand it to someone else.
Who owns the website?
You do, once the final payment is made — the site, its design, and the code built for your project, per your written agreement. Third-party platform accounts (Shopify, booking tools, hosting, your domain) stay in your name from the start.
Can you guarantee sales or search rankings?
No — and be wary of anyone who says yes. We cannot guarantee a specific amount of traffic, sales, search-engine rankings, or revenue. We build and configure the website according to the approved scope and accepted professional practices, which is what a web team can honestly promise.
Can you fix or improve my existing website?
Yes — that's a website redesign. We'll review what you have, tell you honestly what's worth keeping, and quote a rebuild rather than patching something that's holding you back.
Do you write the content for my site?
You're welcome to provide your own text and photos, and that keeps costs down. If you'd like help writing copy or sourcing images, let us know when you request a quote and we'll include it in the scope.
Still have a question?
Ask us directly, or tell us about your project and we'll answer everything in a written quote.
